What does a Reiki treatment
feel like?
People who experience
Reiki often report a gentle rush of energy, like a
warm glow, or even a warm shower, it brings about
a deep and peaceful relaxation and often the client
will fall asleep. People often say that they feel
as though they’ve had a gentle massage! When the energy
flows through the body it can be felt as a deep nurturing
heat and other experiences include a tingling sensation,
colours or lights, muscle spasms or a rumbling stomach
as the energy moves through the body.
Those who experience
it on a regular basis open themselves to a vibration,
which will boost their energy and zest for life whilst
building an effective immune system; therefore it
can be used as a preventative treatment as well as
a cure. This beautiful energy has it’s own unique
and natural way of restoring balance to the body’s
life force.
The practitioner simply uses a non-intrusive hands-on
technique to transfer the energy. The hands are held
over each area for 3 – 5 minutes, usually starting
from the head working down to the feet or until the
practitioner feels it right to move on.
Reiki energy heals on all levels – body, mind and
spirit and directs itself to the areas which need
healing, this is why it is regarded as a very intelligent
energy as it appears to know exactly where to go and
what to do, the healer is simply the vessel through
which Reiki flows and passes. It even draws the precise
amount of energy it needs to heal, the healer has
no say in how much to channel, in other words it does
all the work whilst the healer remains intuitively
linked throughout the healing. Because Reiki is drawn
through the channel by the recipient, the Reiki practitioner
will never feel drained, nor take on the condition
of the client – on the contrary, the practitioner
is receiving a self-treatment as the Reiki energy
flows through the channel to the recipient.
